Teacher of the Month - Mr Hathout
Teacher of the Month
Mr. Hathout

Mr. Hathout is currently a resource teacher at Garden City Collegiate who previously taught Philosophy, History, and English at our school. He has been sharing his knowledge and kindness in public schools for the past 10 years. His love for teaching stemmed from having previous experience as an instructor for soldiers. He found passion as an instructor but didn't want to continue pursuing a job that taught violence. That set his path to become the amazing teacher he is at our school. He loves how his job now can aid in the positivity and growth of students instead of encouraging negativity. He says that collaborating with colleagues who share the same goal of further brightening our world, through students, makes coming to work an absolute joy. He has made big impacts in our school by going above and beyond. An example of this is that he leads the Monday through Friday morning breakfast club in the Commons and the lunch club in 101E. These clubs provide free food to students, so they have opportunities to nourish their minds for the day ahead, and all are welcome. Not to mention that he is always more than happy to provide students with extra help if needed. He does this and more with a constant smile on his face. Anyone who has the opportunity to talk to Mr. Hathout can see how much he cares for every single student. Overall, Mr. Hathout is a compassionate, humble, and hard-working member of our school who works to better the lives of those around him. With all of his hard work and kindness, we will surely have a brighter future through the students he positively impacts on a daily basis.
